'A design classic'

Strengths:

Overall:

We wanted one of these for a while but it seemed like too much money to spend on a high chair. But I'm glad we went for it in the end. We moved our 3 1/2 year old over to it when his 6 month old brother needed his old Ikea high chair. He liked being able to get up and down from the table and being at the right height. I like how smart it looks and that I can sit on it too. In fact, as it's a bit higher, I tend to prefer it if I'm using my laptop at the dining table. We got the light wood one without any of the baby accessories, which made it that bit cheaper. Two years in and it still looks like new. Be careful not to over tighten the bolts when you assemble it.

'High quality highchair that allows your baby to sit at the table with you - and looks great!'

Strengths:

- looks great if you have to have the high-chair constantly on display! - very strong and durable - pretty easy to assemble - great colour range - now do a baby seat to attach - baby sits with everyone at the table

Weaknesses:

- adjusting footplate etc requires tools - new plastic babyset isn't as attractive as the old leather strap one - expensive - needs to be assembled well or can be difficult to get your little one in and out of it - seperate tray you can buy for your table doesn't fit all tables - may not be able to use high-chair toys which can be useful for weaning

Overall:

A well designed quality chair - worth the investment!

Strengths:

Looks good, cleans well and lasts for many years.

Weaknesses:

As I didn’t have to buy it it wasn’t a problem but I could see the initial cost being an issue for some people!

Overall:

I was lucky enough to be given a Stokke Tripp Trapp by a friend and I can honestly say it’s the best high chair we have ever used. We had a pretty basic one at first but at about 16 months my son had started to get annoyed with not being able to get close to the table and would want to get down! As soon as we started using the Tripp Trapp that all changed. I am not sure whether it was the fact that it looks like our dining room chairs that helped but I think it made him feel as though he was like mummy and daddy, needless to say meal times have become less of a hassle since we were given the Tripp Trapp! Another great factor about the Tripp Trapp is that it is great for my son to sit in the kitchen with to help mummy prepare dinner, before the legs sticking out way in front of the seat hindered this and he was just too low. It has totally revolutionised the way we eat and interact with each other at mealtimes and I cannot recommend it enough, it is a lot of money for some people and although I didn’t have to pay for mine it is an investment that will see your child through to being a teenager. I only wish we had bought one from the start as it might have saved a few dinnertime tears! I am a total Tripp Trapp convert and wouldn’t swap it for anything else just a shame I can’t fit it in my handbag to take when we eat out!
