The Hippychick Hipseat is a back supporting belt, with an integral padded foam shelf, developed to allow adults to carry their children naturally on their hip without the usual strains on the back.

Specifically designed to address one of the root causes of adult back pain, the seat provides a firm shelf for the child to sit on and supports their increasingly heavy weight from underneath. 'Very useful product that will save you from years of backache later down the line'

Strengths:

A small and lightweight design that makes a huge difference when you have to carry your child. It enables you to keep your spine in alignment without throwing your hip out to give your child somewhere to sit.

Weaknesses:

I can only carry my daughter who is 17lbs for about half an hour at a time but in short bursts it's great. If you buy them new they are (in my opinion) quite pricey - I got mine from a dress exchange shop for £8.50 - bargain!

Overall:

Useful product that saves damage to your spine later on. Would be great to receive as a present but probably wouldn't consider it an essential item (unless your baby / toddler needs to be carried a lot of the time). You need to remember that you'll only have 1 hand free so if you go to the shops - don't get 2 bags of shopping!

'LOVE IT. OCCASIONALLY ITS A LIFE SAVER.'

Strengths:

Great for carrying baby whilst doing other things.

Weaknesses:

You have to find it before picking up the baby(!) (doesnt have a tracking device) As a result, I dont use it ALL the time.

Overall:

My son was 10lb at birth and has grown up what you might call a 'chunky' baby. When he's teething and needs lots of cuddles the belt is a life saver because he is just too heavy to carry around. The other time that I love the belt is when I am organising to get out of the house and he becomes tired. I can carry him around on it to stop him crying and finish off a few last minute jobs before leavng. I think they are expensive, but worth it.
