Tripp Trapp is the chair that grows with the child. It lifts them up so they can be included in activities around the table.
Children can start using the Tripp Trapp with a baby set when they can sit unaided, which is normally the age of 6-9 months. In the beginning it is important to adjust the seat depth so that there is some space between the front edge of the seat and the child's calf. A firm support for the feet is required for natural movement.
These chairs also allow your child to use the table to their best advantage. The seat and footrest are both easily adjustable, both in height and depth. This ensures that the chair is always correctly adjusted for your child.
And also, using the footplate as a seat, the Tripp Trapp chair can be adjusted for adult use.
We all have these chairs in our house around our kitchen table! It is so nice to be able to sit around the table together with everybody comfortable and able to reach safely. We have also found them invaluable when it comes to homework and art activities. To be sat comfortably increases concentration span!

'A MUST HAVE FOR EVERY CHILD.'

Strengths:

Grows with the child Wide choice of colours to match EVERY dining room in the country, design blends in with any table. Encourages your child to join in mealtimes

Weaknesses:

With a fidgety child this chair can be easily tipped - can not leave child alone. No tray so has to be used at the table at all time.

Overall:

One of the best buys I made. Our daughter sits at the table for all meals and it's made our going out for meals a (relative?) breeze. She will now sit in any highchair and take part in mealtimes. The chair itself is sleek and comfortable. It matches all our dining furniture and with the choice of colours available I defy anyone not to find a colour match! Simple to assemble and adjust. Doesn't need all the padded cushions as they just get matted with food! All my friends bought conventional high chairs initially and one by one have eventually bought a Tripp Trapp. Do yourself a favour, save yourself some money and buy this one from the get go- it's such good value when you consider they'll have it for the next 6+ years. And the quality leaves you in no doubt it will last that long.

'GOOD BUT OVERPRICED'

Strengths:

Grows with child from 6months to adulthood.

Weaknesses:

No "table" so have to eat at a dining table. Not good when doing finger food or self feeding in early days. Can't fold it so takes a lot of space.

Overall:

I won my Stokke so use it and do like it, however I have to say I would not buy one. We also own a graco highchair which folds up, is height adjustable and reclinable - I use this as my first choice when feeding because it's much easier.

'SOLID, VERSATILE AND CLASSY'

Strengths:

I agree with the earlier comments. Looks good alongside adult chairs too - and ages well!

Weaknesses:

none really. I've only given it 3/5 for storage but I wouldn't have expected it to be foldable anyway.

Overall:

We have two; very happy with them. Just to add to earlier comments: 1. They're really stable but they can be tipped over backwards with a bit of effort - depends how bonkers your child is and how much leverage they can get on the dining table with their feet. ie probably like any other high chair, don't leave your child unattended thinking it's 100% impossible for them to hurt themselves. 2. You can buy a fitted cushion and a shaped plastic back to keep small babies stable. I'm pretty sure we used ours before 6 months.
